Six Steps to Earn a Steady Income From Your Job

This article is inspired by a carpenter, but is as well applicable to painters, plumbers, construction worker or anybody else who does not have a steady income and have to deal with either high pressure working days or no job weeks.

How do some people earn a steady income every month while some don't? The reason lies in the kind of demands that your profession requires. Unlike an office goer who works 9-5 five days a week, the jobs for carpenters depend on who requires his carpentry and when. The jobs for carpenters are also not monthly packages, rather are calculated hourly. While on an average, the carpenter charges $35 per hour, it does not translate into $35 for eight hours, twenty five days a month. There have been weeks together when carpenters do not find jobs for themselves.

How can a carpenter or for that matter anyone with a temporary job manage this problem? The trick lies in finding an alternate income route that satisfies the following rules:
1. Does not require any additional skills that you currently possess
2. Can be completed outside the normal working time for carpentry
3. Can be treated as a full time job on days/weeks you do not find carpentry jobs

Part time jobs are plenty. However most of them require you to be following a definite work schedule which is difficult given the vagaries of your carpentry jobs. Also, it is difficult to find those that can be matched by your own skills. The best alternative is to find something on the internet that is simple to do. This is because the Internet is a global resource and so does not follow any strict timing. Hence, you can always use your own spare time to contribute and make money.

Here is a six step plan to make money from the internet:

1. Determine the kind of jobs available on the internet that you can afford to do. You can determine this by asking your friends or family members who have already done this. You may also find help from friends on the internet (though most are difficult to trust)
2. Select the program you think is best and study it to understand the working hours required, the money you can possibly make from the program
3. See for any catch. Some programs are free. But beware most of these programs are meant to dupe people. These programs may either "ban" you when you are about to receive a payment or "shut down" in a few months without paying you.
4. See if you can get any reviews of the program. Most times they are hard to find by. Still you shall definitely find a few if you search enough
5. Sign up for the program. Make sure the payment is "safe". You are safe if the company uses gateway such as Plimus or Paypal when you make the payment.
6. ACT!
